ABSTRACT
It has been said that the technology of the fourth industrial revolution would greater changes in health care industry than others. A number of research on robotics in nursing have been conducting for supporting safety and daily activities of elderly patients with the increasing aging population. Many types of robotic nurses have been invented so far to assist daily activities, mobility, social communication, cognitive and/or emotional support for the disabled older adults or patients, and patient care in hospital settings as well as at home. Application of robots in a variety of nursing settings would improve quality of care for elderly patients as well as usability or rationality of caring system, resulting from that positive effects of the emotional support robots have been reported by a number of researches.
