ABSTRACT

The present study was to identify some problems of theelderly patients who have treated with hemodialysis. The researchmethod of identifying the problems was to review charts writtenfrom the late 1997 to the early 1998 for 109 patients. According tothe charts, most of the patients suffered from hypertension and/ordiabetes, and they took hemodialysis at least 3 times a week. Inaddition, about ¾ of the patients needed ultrafiltration due toweight gain before taking hemodialysis. The findings suggestedthat the elderly patients were given the proper diet and health careby themselves and their family caretakers.
