ABSTRACT

The present study was attempted to explore the relationshipsbetween subjective age and life satisfaction as well as healthconcerns. Eight hundred and nineteen participants from 15 to 80years of age were asked about their subjective ages of bothphysical and mental dimensions. The questionnaires about healthconcerns and life satisfaction were also administered to them. Inteens and twenties, physical and mental subjective age couldpredict life satisfaction, but only physical subjective age did healthconcerns. Whereas over thirties, chronological age and physicalsubjective age could predict both life satisfaction and healthconcerns. In addition, those who held younger identification ofsubjective age in physical dimensions showed higher lifesatisfaction, but who held younger and older in mental dimensionsshowed higher life satisfaction than did same age identification. And those who held younger in both dimensions showed higherhealth concerns.
