ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study was to identify the self-management ofthe elderly patients who have suffered from asthma. There were 66patients who were from 55 to 84 years old. The self-managementcapabilities were dependent upon their age, socio-economic status,number of family members including their spouse, experience ofusing inhaler and so on. It was discussed that the findings shouldbe applied to develop nursing intervention programs for improvingthe self-management capabilities of the elderly asthma patients.
