ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to assess levels of sexualawareness and life satisfaction from the 260 community-dwellingelderly Koreans. The levels were analyzed according to sociodemographiccharacteristics of the sample. The major findings werethat the levels of sexual awareness and life satisfaction weresignificantly related with the respondents' gender, age, educationalbackground, finance, employment status, cohabitation status,subjective health, and activity levels; at the same time, the sexualawareness level was a significant predictor variable to the lifesatisfaction. The findings were discussed in the context ofpromoting social welfare benefits for the elderly.
