The meaning of successful aging in the aging society has focusedon how to improve old adults’ QOL(quality of life), and a healthystatus would be a key factor of improving the QOL as well askeeping a happy life. Both physical and mental health for people inthe late adulthood might be dependent upon how to use theirleisure time. Their leisure activities are generally classified intoproductive leisure and consumptive leisure activities. Most Koreanold adults tend to concentrate on consumptive leisure activitiessuch as simple diversions, entertainments or social activities. Themain reason why they did not pay attention to the productiveleisure activities might be lack of educational program on leisureuse. Thus, health-related program including especially leisure useshould be developed to improve the old adults’ QOL.
